Its been a busy and very exciting week at the TimbresAndTones offices this week with new kit and gadgets (Ableton Live 10 and ROLI Seaboard RISE) blowing our minds!!
Firstly we got our hands on the Ableton 10 Beta and have been busy testing our products with the new release, and also investigating the new enhancements. We can happily report all our products are forward compatible with Ableton 10, and we are also in the process of updating our products to create a new Ableton 10 install to handle any new implications. It should be noted that it would appear Ableton 10 material is NOT backward compatible to Ableton 9.x, so we will continue to offer Ableton 9 and 10 versions of our products for the foreseeable future.
Secondly, we got our hands on ROLI Seaboard RISE and have been flying our Zephyrs through the galaxy of expressiveness of the instrument. Equally impressed with the Equator from ROLI and Strobe 2 MPE synths, along with configuring it in Omnisphere, Kontakt, Synthmaster and the native Ableton instruments. We hope to get some MIDI Polyphonic Expression (MPE) content loaded to the marketplace in the near future once we can stop playing about and admiring the sheer beauty of the controller!
Our site has been in its pilot phase for the last couple of weeks and we’re due to start the ramp up to a full launch this side of Christmas, including new product content. Also stay tuned for further blog posts on our experiences with Ableton Live 10 beta and the ROLI Seaboard RISE.
